Corey is a hair stylist and owner of Enjoy Co Hair Studio where he curates positive experiences for his clients by providing fresh cuts, personalized styles, and top-notch listening skills.
Tell us about the work you do and how you got started.
I started my career in hair as many other professionals did- the kitchen cut method. I grew up around haircutting, as my father was a hairstylist. When the kids around me needed cuts, I figured, “Hey, let me give this a shot!” The cuts weren’t half bad... Then, in my early 20’s I started touring pretty heavily with bands. It’s hard to make time on tour for self-care, so I ended up becoming the resident barber. I would be doing arena tours or going out with punk bands and bringing my haircutting tools.
When my touring life slowed down, I decided to go to beauty school for proper education and licensing. Flash forward 5 years, and here I am! My entrepreneurial tendencies mixed with my hair skills and poof, I opened Enjoy Co.
What do you love about owning Enjoy Co. and cutting hair?
I love the community we have built at Enjoy Co. Cutting hair grants me the opportunity to have intimate conversations in a unique setting. I get to apply my skills and talents constantly which helps me hone them every day. We have very loyal clients who enjoy the environment we have curated. Enjoy Co is very welcoming and comfortable - an all inclusive, gender-neutral, technique driven, fashion-forward haircutting studio for absolutely everyone.
How do you use Catch?
I use Catch to help effortlessly save money on multiple levels. When I first opened my business in early 2018, I had a very difficult time saving money for taxes- I didn’t know HOW to put aside money or what quarterly percentage to save. With Catch, each daily deposit automatically puts away a small percentage of that day’s earnings so I don’t have to worry about having the appropriate funds at the end of the year to pay the government. This legitimately reduces a lot of stress for me!
Also, now I have a fun savings account that puts away another small percentage so at the end of the year I can take a vacation or have money put aside for emergencies. Catch has sincerely helped me learn about saving and budgeting without having to hire a financial planner. My next step is using Catch’s retirement investing tools to create a passive income and plan better for my future!

What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone just starting out in your field?
To work hard at setting yourself apart from other folks in the industry. Be creative. Trust in your skills and abilities, but always be hungry to learn and grow. Don’t stop learning! The hair industry is all about creating a culture and building relationships. Save your money and continue investing in your future!
